Aftershoot AI Retouching delivers natural, delivery-ready results across faces, bodies, clothing, and backgrounds.
It removes acne and blemishes while keeping skin texture intact, softens freckles and pigmentation, and reduces forehead lines, under-eye shadows, and smile lines without losing natural expressions. It can also brighten teeth, enhance eyes, smooth skin, remove glass glare, and clean up stray hairs — all while preserving realistic detail.
Beyond portraits, it also helps clean up the final image with features like cloth wrinkle removal and background object removal for neater frames.
You can also replace headshot backgrounds directly inside Aftershoot — a feature currently in beta.

Yes, you can batch retouch easily in Aftershoot. Just open one image in Loupe View and adjust the AI Retouching sliders to your liking. Once you’re happy with the result, select the rest of the images you’d like to apply those edits to from the filmstrip below. Then hit Sync – and all your selected photos will be retouched with the same settings in seconds. It’s a quick way to get consistent results across a full shoot without fine tuning each image one by one.

When you open the AI Retouching panel, you’ll see the preset dropdown at the top. Click it to browse and apply from a set of pre-loaded presets designed by the Aftershoot team – such as “Wedding Radiance,” “Anti-aging,” or “Pro Headshots,”. They’re a great starting point if you want quick results or don’t want to tweak every slider manually.
The selected preset will evaluate your photos and apply the relevant retouch effect.
You can also make your own adjustments to the sliders and save these preferences as a new preset to be used in future.

We’re actively building new tools to give you even more control – without the manual work. Here’s what’s coming soon: background extension and cleanup, liquifying tools, dodge and burn for face and body, double chin softening, and dark circle correction amongst other updates. As always, we’ll keep things fast, natural, and easy to use – right inside Aftershoot.

You can opt out before you import your images. We understand many photographers work with NDAs for sensitive shoots, or simply aren’t comfortable sharing data — the opt-out is right on the import screen. No questions, no gray areas.

Our AI Retouching plan starts at $20/month (billed annually) — unlimited photos, no per-image fees, ever. We offer both — monthly as well as annual billing.
Even if you do three portrait shoots a month with 1000 images each, it will cost you a fixed $20. Try as many options as you want or as per your preferences.
Plans can also be paused during slower seasons if you don’t need it year-round.

Aftershoot runs smoothly on any modern Windows or macOS computer. The minimum system requirements are 8GB of RAM and a relatively recent CPU.
Note: Features like preview rendering and retouching may not work reliably on systems using Intel Integrated Graphics (iGPU) or GPUs with less than 2GB VRAM.
