8.8 Billion Images Later: Aftershoot Snapshot 2025

2025 was big. Bigger than we imagined.

This year alone, photographers processed 8.8 billion images using Aftershoot. To put that into perspective, 8.8 billion images is enough to keep someone reviewing photos every second of every day for nearly 280 years or to fill 880,000 photo albums, each packed with 10,000 memories.

All of that added up to 89 million hours saved, or put another way: 11.1 million nights of sleep reclaimed by photographers around the world. Nights that didn’t end with endless culling, tweaking, and second-guessing but with rest, recovery, and showing up fresh for the next shoot.

But looking back is not just about the numbers (even though they’re hard to ignore). It’s about what those numbers represent for almost 188k+ photographers globally: time saved, stress reduced, deadlines met, and more space for photographers to focus on what truly matters— creating, growing their businesses, and living life beyond the screen.

How did Aftershoot get here?

Behind every number and feature launch were moments that moved the Aftershoot community forward. New ways of working and connecting emerged throughout 2025. 

Aftershoot’s new milestone was a clear signal that AI-assisted workflows were no longer optional. What once felt like “help during busy season” had become the default way photographers managed volume year-round.

Complete the post-production workflow

With retouching officially part of Aftershoot, photographers moved from import to final delivery without breaking their flow. This release helped us complete the post-production workflow, bringing culling, editing, and retouching into a single, connected experience.

The response was immediate. Photographers who used to treat retouching as a separate, time-consuming step began finishing galleries faster, with fewer handoffs and less mental fatigue.

Bring the community together

2025 wasn’t just about what shipped, it was about who we built with.

Throughout the year, Aftershoot showed up alongside photographers in more ways than ever before. We hosted 70+ Create Together Fund events with photographers across the globe, creating space for real conversations around workflows, growth, education and the realities of running a photography business. 

Beyond our own events, we spent the year on the road, attending industry conferences at Imaging, WPPI and more, meeting photographers where they work, and listening closely to what they needed next. 

One of the most meaningful moments of the year came when our ambassadors gathered for Amplify 2025 in Rome. We went on photo walks, we laughed, we ate pasta...it was such a wholesome experience.

Building for what’s next

2025 was a year of momentum, but it wasn’t the finish line. As we look ahead, our focus stays the same — making photographers' lives easier one update at a time. The numbers from 2025 tell a powerful story. 

And while there’s a lot we’re proud of from this year, what’s coming next is already taking shape. 2026, here we come!
